USCIS Revises Fees

USCIS announced a rule revising the fees for immigration applications / petitions. The revised fees will go into effect on November 23, 2010.

Per the rule, the overall fees will increase by a weighted average of about 10 percent. However, the fee for the naturalization application has not been revised. Additionally, the rule also reduces fees for six applications and will extend the availability of fee waivers to new categories.

USCIS reduced the fee for these forms:

  • Form I-129F , Petition for Alien Fiancé
  • Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Non immigrant Status
  • Form I-698, Application to Adjust Status from Temporary to Permanent Resident
  • Form I-817, Application for Family Unity Benefits
  • Form N-565, Application for Replacement Naturalization/Citizenship Document and
  • Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, when filed for Refugee Travel Document.

If you have to file an application with the USCIS, please ensure  your application filed as soon as possible before November 23.
